OUR NETWORK OPERATION CENTER (NOC)

The NOC ensures network management 24 hours a day, 7 days a week thanks to its sophisticated computerized tools which monitor all network elements as well as the quality of network services. It ensures end-to-end preventive maintenance and efficient assistance, making them 99.99% reliable.

The NOC's experienced staff has access through multimedia workstations to detailed circuitry schematics and network management information on a detailed map of circuit topologies as well as a strip map showing network management information.

The main functions of the NOC are:

  • Network monitoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
  • Quality control;
  • Operational planning;
  • Production of trouble reports and statistics on the performance and reliability of Videotron services;
  • Inventory management of backup units;
  • Management of access to physical plant;
  • Management of staff admissions to/departures from physical plant.

Videotron has invested heavily in preventive monitoring systems to detect problems before they can affect our services. Operations centres are also located in the main cities covered by the network. For example, when traffic is diverted to a backup circuit during a service interruption, an operator can find out instantly which circuit has been transferred and which customers would be affected if this backup were to become inoperative before the interruption is repaired.
